zurich / switzerland / 1995

update: wow, very honoured to get a DD for this. i may update the print for this one soon, rescanning it at much higher resolution (4000dpi) and making the title at the bottom a bit less...chunky :)

Daily DeviationI have a strange habit when it comes to art and artists I absolutely love: I bookmark the artist's page or the particular piece I like. I might not say anything to them, might not watch them. When I saw zurich - concrete example by *redux though, I knew I had to break myself of that habit and share this piece. What I like about zurich - concrete example is that its lines, composition, and tones draw the eye in, and entertain it. Enjoy this, and many other wonderful works in his gallery. Niftyness. Nice composition and angles, and I especially like the tonal gradient from the top to the bottom of the frame.

Nice shot!
You're always so good with composition. This photo makes me drool. Beautiful.

whee. fantastic gradual shift in tone. i love the conflict between the curves and the straight thingy. the clinical changes in tone and grain are fantastic, and I love the blown out, pure sky. Anything there would have detracted from this, making it less stark. It's all very Pi, though there's something coldly alien about it.. i really like this theme that seems to run through your photos.

i gots me a new favourite :+fav: :)

I would've never thought that's what this was. Why no print for sale? This one's very nice.

I like the shift from light to dark; You really got a full range there. Nice job.

You know when the doctor asks you to say 'aahhh' and you open your mouth and he puts that thing that to all intents and purposes tastes and looks like an emery board in? Yeah, well that is what this shot reminds me of..in concrete.
